I am teaching a course in Human Computer Interaction and an looking for some good online tools that will let students mock up an interactive user interface and share it with other students.
I am less interested in general HCI materials and more interested in tools related to prototyping. One tool I've been considering is:
https://proto.io/
It is nice, in that it allows the student to put together an interactive prototype using drag and drop buttons. The problem for education is that the free version only allows one user per account and a max of 5 prototyped screens.

For simple wireframe designs, you could use Lucidchart or Wireframe.cc which have collaboration functions built-in. Microsoft Visio can also be used for simple mock-ups of interfaces.
Many schools give students subscriptions to Adobe's Creative Cloud. As a part of its Creative Cloud is Adobe Experience Design Beta CC. It's not a webapp, but I would recommend it if your students have access. http://www.adobe.com/products/experience-design.html
Kami, If you're looking for lo-fi mockup tools you should try the ones previously mentioned. But if you're interested on high-fidelity interactive prototypes (like Proto.io), I would suggest you to try Figma (https://www.figma.com). It has a free plan for students: "All features in Figma are free for all students and their educators at accredited institutions" (https://www.figma.com/pricing-faq).
Hi, if you are great at designs the mockup templates, I would recommend invisionapp. I used it for my research, and It felt very intuitive to use. You may also give balsamiq mockups a try, it comes shipped with preset assets.
I've used Balsamiq on occasion for fast mockups. It uses a rough sketchbook look to encourage people to revise things. Pretty low learning curve might make it a good fit for a class.
there are a few options you can apply in class. In vision has been taking the place of axure in last couple of semesters where I teach. But I really like to use photo tapper in order to take students to use pencil and paper more often.
apple has released something recently for prototyping , but I can't remember the name.
