Can I continue with Data Science research which is so much dynamic?
Yes Sir you can. There is no need of knowing all the programming skills we need to consider regarding your situations.
1. it is necessary to have in depth ideas about all the algorithms available of architectures which has been used for Data Science. For example: The supervised and unsupervised learning techniques. You can find some review papers to get the starting points and then you can go further more.
2. As a Data Scientist, we need to work with data. So particularly which type of data, you want to work with fix it first. Then try to go through some papers, how they process the data for utilizing the existing architectures or algorithms. Not all data scientists are experimenting with the architectures of the Data Algorithms. Most of the cases, they process the data and utilize it with existing architectures.
3. Basic statistics knowledge are enough I guess.
4. For programming perspective, to check your learning practically, you can utilize matlab. It is very easy to understand and most of the cases the implementation is much more easier. So you can define your model with these.
5. Basic MS Excel work will also help you.
