Terminology of these terms are confusing with the plant science. In some books Halfsib are progeny in which single parent is known while Full sibs - progeny whose both parents are known.
Halfsib means a progeny set in which their mother tree is known, while fullsib is known for both their father and mother tree. Fullsib is commonly referred for a traditional breeding program with a control pollination assay (cross breeding),
Thanks Dr Singh, relatedness is criteria in crop science as in if progeny developed from parents of two different populations the siblings are called halfsibs although we know both the parents as suggested by Dr Zheng.
