I was wondering if anyone of you guys know either any pdf/book or document/research paper which can provide in-depth explanation on the real and imaginary values for the permittivity , permeability and refractive indexes and their applications as there are lot of research papers , but it was getting hard to link all of them ?

The best what I know is Handbook of Optical Constants of Solids edited by Edward D. Palik from 1997, ISBN 978-0-12-544415-6.
This is the most comprehensive handbook (of five volumes) for optical constants I have ever seen.
Jaroslav Kastyl I certainly agree with you as long as long as scalar theory is sufficient, but once things get really interesting, e.g. for monoclinic and triclinic materials, what you find in the Palik is erroneous and misleading, e.g. for As2S3, which is simply treated in the same way as an orthorhombic material.
Thomas Mayerhöfer Sure, there can be some mistakes. This can even be expected with such a huge amount of data. It is good to point on and correct them.
Jaroslav Kastyl It is actually more than just mistakes - I would call this systematic errors. The Palik was written only slightly after it was possible to extract optical constants from monoclinic crystals (1978) and long before the same was possible for triclinic crystals (2013). Therefore such cases are systematically treated wrongly in the book (if at all). Needless to say, that most materials belong either to the monoclinic or the triclinic crystal class... ;-)
