 The Model Experimental School provides pre-service teachers and other  students  training faculties with practical training in teaching methodology and in education in general. It is an institution where the educational, research and training projects of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki are carried out.

In my humble opinion, both will benefit because the new will come with educational technology while the old will gain from the rule of thumb "the best way to learn something is to teach it !".

This is a very interesting and timely topic, in my opinion, Laurie. You might actually find that pre-service teachers know and use technology much more than their in-service counterparts, and a reverse partnership might be useful to explore. A grad student of mine, Seunghee Chung, has recently investigated the topic of technology and teachers' beliefs about it and found that pre-service teachers are not only comfortable with technology, but also feel that they would use it in teaching; their inservice peers are often concerned about the negative aspect of technology though. We are currently preparing a publication based on this research, but in the meantime, you might want to see her thesis - Chung, S. (2014). Pre-service and in-service ESL teachers’ beliefs about the use of digital technology in the classroom (Doctoral dissertation, Carleton University Ottawa). Hope this helps.

My school district has such a partnership and our current teachers do gain a great deal from the collaboration. The research I have been reading says quite the contrary about pre-service teachers and given their status as digital natives, I would have anticipated otherwise. As such, I find this an interesting topic with a potential solution! thank you for the dissertation idea. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
