In the essay linked above, Paul Emiljanowicz argues that "we must commit to expanding our knowledge about democracy and recognising the experiences and knowledges of all peoples."

One means for doing so is the excellent global resource called Participedia. This resource is a crowdsourced platform that records participatory and democratic innovations. Activists, practitioners, and researchers (these categories are found in the same person) do contribute to the platform and often learn and work together.
