I'd like to know the specification of band wavelength and their principal applications and combination of band to create the true colour, false colour for resourcesat-2 image. Generally we have electromagnetic spectrum, each wavelength band (or) combination of band is used for particular application. I would to like to know each band application. And I hope that for all sensor wavelength band principal application is similar.
Are you looking to create color from digital wavelength readouts? One definition of color, from a photographic perspective, is the subtraction of wavelengths absorbed by an object, from the total distribution of energy in white light. So, for an RGB system, Red = White - Blue - Green. Is this what you're getting at?

There has been a lot of research on interpeting spectral data. As for color in the images are selected to allow users to interpit the data. Hope this helps.
