in my reactor, according to bibliography the ratio of the substrates(tomato-manure-corn) are:

20-48-32.

for the VS content of each substrate i made the following calculations:

i weighted 4,25 gr dry matter of tomate which led to 4,09 gr after 105 degrees and 3,74 gr after 550C.

so for 1 gr VS i want: 4,25gr* 1*gr VS/3,75gr=1,13 gr dry matter (tomato)

i want 20% ration in my digester so: 1,13gr dry matter * 20/100= 0,22 gr of tomato in feed.

also i have and OLR= 2 gr VS/L

volume of digester 3 L

the thing is: why do i calculate the amount of the feed based on 1 gr of VS??how come?

are the calculations right??

i need bibliography and calculation where is explained the relationship between OLR, feed per substrate and symple math logic
