I am looking for recommendations for a verbal ability or verbal IQ test for children aged 10-16 years, which can be administered within about 15 minutes. Is there such a thing?
The major IQ tests generally have short forms. One option would be the Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence (WASI); another would be the Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test (K-BIT). These are based, respectively, on the WISC and K-ABC.
Podría aplicar el sub test: conceptos verbales, de la Prueba de Madurez Mental California forma intermedia S-50, que se aplica a partir de primer año de educación secundaria
In regards to abbreviated IQ tests, which would allow the examiner to administer in quick, short periods of time, it all depends on what you'd like to do with the results. Such tests as the WASI, K-BIT, etc, as the name suggest, this is basically a screening instrument designed to provide a rapid estimate of cognitive functioning. New York State agencies does not accept use of such instruments in lieu of several more comprehensive tests (like the WAIS, S-B5, etc.). Moreover, in such estimates psychiatric/emotional issues might have a factor in depressing scores. I'd suggest you spend the time and administer a valid instrument, this way you can get a more reliable quotient.
