I had the opportunity to use BFR with the patients I worked with as a physical therapist technician at an outpatient clinic. The repetition scheme we would use is 30-15-15-15, with a 30- to 60-second rest between each set. We would have patients perform Short Arc Quads (SAQ), Long Arc Quads (LAQ), and, when advanced enough, bodyweight and loaded squats.
