I'm a student who has been in trouble with setting up Novel object location test (a kind of behavioral assays for assessing spatial memory of mice).

crucial issue: how many trials did you take? Detection of novelty, depends on the levels of familiarization with the testing conditions. Were your subjects fully familiarized with the cage arrangements?
