Dear researchers,
I would like to ask you about some recent advancements in the field of Commonsense Reasoning in Artificial Intelligence.
First of all, I would like to know are there any recent improvements in the area of Commonsense understanding of Natural language?
Secondly, I would like to know is there any interesting topic in the aforementioned field that could be investigated using formal logical methods or knowledge representation techniques? More importantly, I would like to know whether some more recent KR formalism like Conceptual Spaces could be used for this problem?

I would suggest that you look at [1] which has a version 3 updated in August 2020. To further the discussion I would suggest that you narrow your type of approach per the paper (e.g. symbolic vs. neural approach).
In terms of knowledge representation, I still think that event calculus is a must read [2] as well as Helbig's work[3] which has been implemented in a restricted fashion in [4]

A realistic and useful subject of research and development is "domain specific" synthetic language, combined with "domain specific" formal logic that can be used for representation, communication, and reasoning. This includes diagnostic reasoning, temporal reasoning, operational reasoning, and many others.
