I intend to use social network analysis (SNA) as a research method for my study. However, I could not get straightforward resources using social network analysis as a method for qualitative data analysis.
For any network analysis, you need to define nodes and to set criteria for when a connection exists between a pair of nodes. What approach were you going to use to do this for qualitative data analysis.
"Nodes" will be selected students with disabilities at higher institutions; my interest is exploring their experiences related to their social networks at the campus. And my interest is employing the egocentric approach.
However, I am unclear if I can study social network characteristics using qualitative research approaches like case studies/phenomenology studies.
Unless you include open-ended questions about the nature of these networks, I don't see any way that qualitative data analysis software could help you.
