Much pain has been observed among the Rohingya and the Palestinian populations amid the highly aggressive actions practiced and still ongoing, brings forward a major concern about the efforts spent on Peace Education, especially that many influential figures in Peace Education belong to the countries where the bloody events are ongoing. Do you think that these events will affect "Peace Education" efforts worldwide especially that The Nobel laureate has shocked the world by failing to speak up for persecuted minorities...on one end, and Israeli Peace education supporters are awaited to speak up!!

Peace education is only lost if people like you stop asking this question. What most don’t understand about peace education is that the success of it is solely derrived from the collective efforts of those who want peace. Connect, communicate and mutually educate (nonviolently of course!).
Thank you Brandon for your response, However, I am not doubting Peace Education, but I wonder why I do not see clear and transparent stances from Peace believers like you on events that need assurance and authenticity. Writing papers and researching the topic is not enough these days. You can not doubt my intentions because I live amid the events themselves.
From my point of view, in the next years we are going to live a new increase of the nationalisms. I am worried about how people (specially young people) blame on minorities about social problems around the world (mainly in Europe).
Is the education the only solution? Of course but not only did they receive this education at school but also they should receive it at home.
Peace education is a universal right.

Education must entail expandong one’s circle of compassion(wanting better for) towards all energy (human or other) that encompasses their brain’s rendition of reality. This ensures that in a globalized economy it is necessary to have compassion for all humanity (and maybe even the planet!).
Also it is important to note that not all children on the planet are learning that different ethical systems vary in the degree of control and the area of reality in which they wish and act to make their ethics reign supremely. To further expidite the peace process we must get together with school districts or other groups to teach the facts of the various eugenics of different groups/tribes/nationalism/etc. and the various methods each employ; first what is similar, then what is different.
I wonder if one day we learn that all of us are human beings over citizen of different countries. In my view it is the target of peace education.

Yes, starting from the primary schools the process of opening up and accept the other is a must, and this indeed is observed in many countries taken as case examples in the literature of Peace Education. However, it is easier to say that all human beings are to benefit from the citizenship of the earth, because with all the political agendas existing, many innocent people are paying the price even with their own lives.
Totally true Hussin. I am a Primary and Special needs teacher and I am worried about how young children think about their unlucky pairs around the world.
The wave of injustice is always high consequently the challenge to act as an agent of change is even tougher. This is why showing a clear stance against injustices fortifies the quest for peace and enriches peace education efforts.
I agree with you Augusto and Hussin, the challenge is really high to face brutal events that on a short term may spread fear of loss of efforts towards peace education.

I don't think that the "Peace Education" is a failure but I think they don't take it seriously all around the world! they still think that "PEACE" is a LUXURY word not an act can be done! That's one of the main reasons that it doesn't work yet in that areas you mentioned. Just goolge the "peace builders" or "peace keepers", you'll see men in war clothes and guns ... but this is not peace ... we peace believers should try to change its face! try to bring all those research to work ... we should stop sitting behind the words, come out and act on what we talk about, if we really believe them! That's what I'm working on these days: Real Practical positive peace! and it doesn't mean "NOT HAVING WAR" ...

Thank you Senad for your input. Indeed a good and accurate description of the status quo around the globe. However, all countries seek Peace in their own terms.
Countries have their own educational systems which may not share the same basis and views toward diversity and others' way of thinking. Consequently, conflicts occur. Moreover, in the two cases above, the problem is more complex and is rooted in history.
That is a strong reality Dr. Atrissi. And it needs a strong faith towards peace.
It would be an illusion to believe, that peace education is an effective tool to bring conflict parties with power on both sides to peace. Nevertheless is peace education necessary and relevant. It is part of the endeavor to educate the young generation to responsible citizens. They must know the reasons and backgrounds of such conflicts and must be introduced in methods of conflict advising, mediation and further kinds of conflict regulation.
Peace education may not necessarily miraculously effect peace in the speedy period we anticipate. Yet, it is an excellent tool for imbibing in humans the ideologies of always seeking resolution of problems and conflicts rather than ditching into the unprofitable and inhumane mud of war!
Well said Dickson, the intention itself is a motivation to incite peace learning and peace spirit. However, patience is needed too.
Good points Dr. Retter. However, the only risk I see in the function of knowing backgrounds and reasons of conflicts is that if the information provided/existent is already biased! It would not help in this case. Many cases abound these days.
