The position of the private medical schools in medical education in Sudan
Private medical school are a necessity in any country but oversight responsibility should be vested n the state. Private medical education should complement government effort.
the characteristic of medical graduate is to 1- serve the community 2- develop his/her career 3- conduct researches. governmental schools have the ability to do so because of the high academic standard of the their students when come from the secondary school (not less than 90%), while the private schools, 70% or even less can study medicine, beside their main objective is income and profit.
private medical schools should have a high standards, to compete with the governmental schools. it should not put the financial affairs at the first priority.
private medical schools now competing public,,,, i think the reason is from early during the school as almost majority of university students graduated from private schools so they tended to study on private universities.
