Hope or motivation may transition too then. initially, when the creative person has very little other than a mere idea, it is more general or universal hope or motivation, perhaps more grounded in himself than his idea, than hope or motivation based on his idea. as his idea or work develops, it may shift to hope or motivation more in his idea or work.
Motivation and hope is fuel to achieve some results. It does not matter a positive or negative ones. Whithout this fuel even a good idea will not be materialized. Motivation and hope is more features of temper and character.
Social psychology and behavioral economics know many examples that people who are more optimistic and positively thinking in a situation of uncertainty than others do, show higher degrees of creativity and innovation.

Motivation is critical to both employee innovative work behaviour and employee innovative work output (see paper and dissertation referenced below). In empirical studies the significance has been established for employees that are both intrinsically moitvated as well as those that are "identified regulated" meaning that the employees are externally motivated but self-identifies with the firm values.
Not surprisingly, one significant antecedent driving employee motivation, of both types, is the quality of the managerial actions in the organisation. Higher quality management translates to higher levels of motivation and innovation.

Motivation is important as a incentive for creativity and innovation. It is the will to achieve something, but for developing creativity is more important critical thinking and knowledge.
