I do not think that research needs show off like celebrities; however, ideas like your idea to promote research and make graduate students learn from researchers is a very good idea.
In research, as much as we need research assistants to do the experimental work, we need talented writers to write dissertations, reports and paper, which lack very much the research institutes now.

I also agree with the valuable suggestion made by Kamal and hope that it can be executed.
I think that each experienced academician have seen that to be a good science writer is an innate gift. I suggest that, when we find it in one of our fellows, we must stimlate and refine this gift independently from the so-called "talent shows".
I believe that it is a good idea. I agree with what have been mentioned and suggested by all colleagues. It will be a great competition if all public and private universities are involved.
