In fact what is a charge? This is a question that has not yet response in physics. But according to me the charge vibrates at the speed of light and provide this speed c to the photons to travel at the same speed which is the speed of light by a mechanism not yet known in fundamental physics. In addition according to me the charge quantify the energies it provides for the photons that it "produce"!

It is an interesting question!
Our recent thoughts on the electron motion make us to consider the possibility of a electromagnetic wave, named by us as Schwinger wave, to be related to the electron. The basic idea has to do with the electron structure and the zitterbewegung physics, in which Compton radius seems to be the right size dimension.
Furthermore, the solution of the Maxwell equations provide the right orbital current, the charge, and the spin of the electron.
If this is true, electron charge is a wave traveling at the speed of light with Compton circumference, connected with the electron mass in a some manner.
