Hello, I am have run an ArcSWAT model, but when preparing to calibrate it in SWAT-CUP I noticed that FLOW_OUT in many instances is equal to zero. Any ideas as to what the cause is and how to fix it? Thank you.
Hi everyone, what I believe is going on here is an issue with missing values in climate data. I was using measured temp and precip from multiple stations, but not all had a complete record. There is an issue with the way SWAT is storing the -99 records, which is also causing printout errors in FLOW_OUT. I solved this by only using stations with complete records, then simulating solar rad/humidity/wind. Thank you for attempting advice.
Considering you have set your model with the right rainfall, soil and slope datasets, I would say it is probably because no water has been routed to the reach. This can be due to many causes.
For example, too much water has been lost to the deep aquifer, and/or water has been depleted by irrigation...or something along these lines...
You can start by checking parameters controlling infiltration of water in the soil, the ones that control overland flow, the ones that set the Manning's "n" value, the ones controlling transmission losses and, finally, the ones controlling hydraulic conductivity.
Also, check management operations that may be causing too much infiltration, if you have set any operation.
