Please suggest a suitable etchant (with compositions) and etching time to get clear microscopic images (showing grain boundaries) for Al 6063/SiC composite. I have used keller's reagent for 10-30 seconds, but grain boundaries are not clearly visible.

Samples can be etched at RT for around 10 min in a solution of Nital (this etchant is white nitric acid: 150 ml of water, 3 ml of nitric acid and 6 ml hydrofluoric acid) (Dixit et al., 2009) Samples can be etched at RT using the Keller’s reagent: a mixture of 2% HF, 3% HCl, 5% HNO and 92% H20 (Lyman & Vandersande, 1976; Y. Li et al., 1997; Shaw 1999; Yousefiani 2000; Kim 2003) Samples can be etched at RT using a mixture of Keller’s and Wilcox’s reagent and Nital (Starink 1992)
