Student or professor? Which comes first in joint articles?
During my studying times we found a good solution. We used the alphabeth. A first, B next a.s.o.
We never had problems. Important: propose the communicating author!
But, this is very problematic. For example, if my last name is Makan, and I also did my best in the project, but a person which his name is starting with C... and has not done much work on the project, then his name comes before me.
In addition, the order of authors has influence on the share of person in the joint-works.
For example, when students want to apply for positions, the application reviewers ask them to present the works which their name are in front of others.
No, not a really problem. Dominating authors are known and welcome in the community. They win if they give place for young colleagues! Try democracy!
Obviously student comes first in joint articles because oval-all experimental tasks has been accomplished by student. Moreover, corresponding author is mostly professor. So it equally remarks for both.

But, I think in developing countries there is no good democratic approach to research contributions. For example, in Promotion Manual of faculty members in Iran the place of authors in joint-works is very important.

You approach is very good. In addition, in your suggested approach, the supervisor has better supervisory role in helping the students to be aware of information ethics in the scholarly community and prohibiting them of plagiarism issues.

Always the student who has done the experiment - corresponding author must be professor
Student name must appear first, then corresponding must be guide or professor.
Professor remains as the Corresponding author.....always student use to get the first preference in any joint article.....
well it depends on the contribution to the project. designing a project as is mostly done by the guides but credits should be handed over to the working hands!! there should be a section to describe the contribution by the contributing authors, i guess that will ease the process to judge!

The first and last author are generally the most important places in a joint paper.
The student or the author with greatest activities must be the first author and the supervisor/Professor the last author. Other authors have cited according to their contribution to the work.
By this, we can easily appreaciate the role of each intervenors.
