I would like to check if virus infection stimulates some cells to produce IFNgamma. Therefore I would like to treat them with a molecule that will promote IFNgamma, as a positive control. What can I use for this purpose?
Only T cells and NK cells produce IFN-gamma, so what's your cell type? Other cell types will only produce type I IFN (alpha/beta) or type III (lambda). For NK cells, you can use any combination of IL2, IL12, IL15 or IL18, they work synergistically or at least additive. The same works for T cells, both anti-CD3 antibodies, PHA or ConA will be more effective. Hope this helps, Johan
