I noticed one very strange thing. RG started to suggest to me to follow some researchers based on my 'citing their work.' I was not able to recognize the names and I am pretty confident that my memory capacity is not ageing as quickly as the rest of my body.
Hence, I would like to ask you, if you have similar experience? Have you as well noticed some similar problems?
This should be pretty simple - to connect the names of those I cited, or who cited me, and then connecting me and them (if they are RG members). But, obviously it is not.
This is a really valuable evidence to the thesis that a machine needs to be supervised by a human all the time. No danger of the AI, or some similar animal, overtaking our human world.
I attach here one sample of the RG flaw. Please, share your own experience. How should we respond to this?
A very intriguing question indeed. I did not engage this yet (at least not conscious of) but it is worrying, as it simpy should not be allowed to happen
frankly, the more I learn of this algorithm- (or, "AI"-) based communication networks, including the academic kind, the more nostalgic I feel about the past centuries when the academic communication was a privilege of the select and lucky few exchanging two-three letters annually. (I am exaggerating a bit, but I am sure you will get my point.) Thanks for your reply.
