I have isolated some betulinic acid from a plant extract, but I can not find a way to dissolve the compound to run NMR. From the literature, people would use pyridine to dissolve it, but it's very hard to get rid of. Is there an alternative solvent that I can use to dissolve betulinic acid?

Thanks a lot for all the answers. To add to my question, I tried using CDCl3 but it turned my sample into a jelly type thing. In the end, I got my NMR spec using MeOD with limited solubility.

I will still run the sample in pyridine to confirm the identity .
