Well, you can broaden you literature search by including the "Green Wall" in high rise building. in some climates, vertical surfaces in cities have the potential to become urban micro-farms, where neighbourhood residents have the opportunity to grow fresh produce for their own use. Currently, some manufacturers are developing commercial living wall products which can be used for growing food vertically.  You may find some interesting articles on green wall as attached. The different between urban and rural in kind of land not in type of life, because media made all people same. but still some people rural in their behavior and traditions.   

While smart cities have so far mostly focused on building more efficient and sustainable infrastructures, including in terms of energy usage and means of transportation, urban farming is yet to be fully integrated in the urban ecosystem.   In pair with meeting our growing food needs comes reducing our impact on the environment, and smart urban farming might just be the way to do so.

Chee Hung FOO - I recently came across this statistic - Japan's controlled environment plant factories have exploded in number from 39 (2009) to 191 (2015). What's driving this trend? Clearly, the business model and technology might have advanced for firms to achieve economies of scale. Clearly, the demand must have also increased.
