#Education is the theoretical preparation of the student, it is primary. #Training is practical experience, an experience that is repeated, and thus skills that are practical are trained. #Training is necessary because the workplace is #everchanging.
For Education: A system established by the Ministry under which the Education item falls. Training: applying the knowledge and information that I get on the ground
The short answer is "Training is only one type of education" - usually through blending some theory with actual practice.
Several contributors to this stream suggest education is about theory only. This is not correct!!
Education is any form of learning be it informal, formal, theoretical or practical. This notion of education only being about theory is why we need a rethink about formal education in general. Everyone has a different preference for how they learn (reference the theory of learning styles, eg: Kolb and Race) but our current education system only works really well for those who are academically minded - which is a minority. We should also move away from thinking that theoretical learning is superior to the practical kind.
Adult education (andragogy) is primarily about self learning - that is, learning from experience as well as gaining further theoretical knowledge.
Education is about acquiring knowledge and developing critical thinking skills, while training is about developing specific skills and competencies needed for a particular job or task.
