Has anyone worked with Sika Stabilizer 4R (Sika corp. commercial product) as viscosity modifying agent (VMA) in concrete ? I am interested to know the effects, and recommended dosages.
I am also interested to know the chemical base (not the exact formula). Its enough for me to understand if it's based on cellulose ether (welan gum or diutan gum) or polyacrylamides.
If you know any publication using this admixtures that is also very useful.

Sika Stabilizer 4R as sold in Switzerland is based on modified starch.

No, you cannot. Both are "natural" polymers consisting of polycondensated D-glycose. But the the connection of the glyose units are different. In cellulose, the glycose units are connected beta-1,4-glycosidic, whereas in starch they are connected alpha-1,4-glycosidic and alpha-1,6-glycosidic.
Thus, the chemical structures are different and also the chemical/physical properties.
