Sometimes different scientist even in the same lab may develop very similar ideas and experimental approaches - and may apply for funding. It appears normal that others may get better funding or think it were their ideas and do the same proposed experiments later. To my surprise it took others about 15 years to do some of my proposed -but not funded- experiments. Would it be OK to "publish" my old grant application somewhere? It happened to me before, that I had an obviously brilliant, pioniering idea and didn't get funded, but less than 2 years later someone published a totally different approach to the same hypothesis. I guess it is not common to publish old research grant applications which did not get funded - but it may help future applicants to choose the right funding agencies?
