Hello, does anyone have Ideas about separating zeolites from acqueous solution? What kind of filter should I use? Is it more practical using centrifugation? If, yes how many rpm should I set my centrifuge? I am separating very fine zeolites (Beta zeolites), and as I can see even using an 8 micron filter, the filtered solution I get is very opalescent.. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, I hope this question is useful also for other people using this kind of solids.. Bye
if you are dealing with this fine materials you will not get very efficient separation either way. more important point is the rest of your research. do you want to use very fine particles without coagulation? then go for centrifuge and take supernatant. if you want just to dry out the material you may use filtration. but I still have serious doubt on this filtration process. You need fine paper, and really high pressure.

However, centrifugation is preferable by using 2,000rpm (1160g) for 10 mins. Separation can be used to determine triglycerides... thanks.
This will depend on the range of particle size. For particles in the range higher than say 5-10 micra whatmann paper will work. For lower particles membrane filtration, for low concentration of solids or centrifugation will work. For nanoparticles no one of those methods will work well. One choice in this case can be liofilization.
This is depend on the size of zeolite.If it is less than 200 nanometer or colloidal solution than you have to use centrifugation.If particle size are in the range of micrometer than you can use filtration.
I have similar problem. Did you find answer. I have nano size of zeolites and I can not to separate reaction mixture and get cake. I got only one phase
