anyone has a reference or could guide me in this question?

sure brief instruments might be better, provided psychometric tests are sound.
Yet my experience support the aptitude of elderly people towards even long assessment, as we worked being well known into the community.

Dear Mahsa,
I'm actually working on a project with ageing people.
To answer quickly to your question. Yes, short tools are better, especially after 69 years old. In any case, you should consider different issues:
- You must define the group of people you are evaluating (eg., 60-69, 61-70 and above).
- Look at what the cognitive impairments associated with your variable of interest might be.
Best regards,
Gonzalo
Hi Mahsa,
Though short tools are better in respect of cost effectiveness and time-constraint, but I think it also depends on the level of cognitive impairment and the involvement of the participants.
