Hello all. I want to know how can I shift a signal on the X-axis in MATLAB. Specifically, I want a particular point in the time domain to be zero (the mid-point, originally having a positive value in the t-domain) and other time points to be on the left and right sides of it without compromising the corresponding values in the Y-axis.

To shift a signal on the X-axis in MATLAB, you can add or subtract a constant value to the time vector. If you want a particular point in the time domain to be zero and other time points to be on the left and right sides of it, you can subtract the value of that time point from the time vector. Here's an example:
% original time vector
t = linspace(0, 10, 100);
% original signal
y = sin(2*pi*t);
% shift time vector so that the midpoint is zero
midpoint = t(50);
t_shifted = t - midpoint;
% plot original and shifted signals
figure;
subplot(2,1,1);
plot(t, y);
title('Original signal');
subplot(2,1,2);
plot(t_shifted, y);
title('Shifted signal');
This will shift the entire signal such that the midpoint (previously at t(50)) is now at zero, and all other points in the time domain will be on the left and right sides of it. The corresponding values in the Y-axis will not be impacted.
