Hello everyone,
We are setting up an EEG experiment using OpenSesame for purpose of stimulus presentation. EEG device we will use is Neuroelectrics Startstim 32 with NIC2 software to design protocols and monitor EEG/ERP signals. It is recommended to use labstreaming layer (LSL) to connect OpenSesame with NIC2. To completely set up our experiment we need to send triggers/markers during the experiment from OpenSesame to NIC2.
I suppose that we need to do some coding by inline script items. Does anyone have experience with sending triggers from OpenSesame to any EEG device via LSL? If so, I would appreciate very much if someone could send a code that had been used with this purpose. If there isn’t a finished code/solution to share, does anybody have an idea how this could be resolved? I've searched throughout the web about LSL and opensesame and had not found adequate help for OpenSesame particularly, but I did find some codes for LSL and PsychoPy. Do you think that PsychoPy code would work in OpenSesame also (since both are written in Python)?

I suppose by now you have already solved the problem.
Some years ago I was sending triggers from E-Prime to Nic using TCP, and I had to use a specific trigger structure (XXXX), otherwise, NIC wouldn't receive it.
To the best of my knowledge, I don't know if NIC receives and displays real-time triggers using LSL, however, one thing that I know that works is that you can use Lab Recorder (https://github.com/labstreaminglayer/App-LabRecorder/releases/tag/v1.16.0) and synchronize the stream from NIC and Triggers from OpenSesame. Actually, If you go to NIC settings there is an option there to open lsl streams.
With LabRecorder you will end up with a .xdf file that can be opened and analysed using various software and libraries matlab, python, R, also for visualization SigViewer https://github.com/cbrnr/sigviewer
For using LSL with OpenSesame you need to install the pylsl dependency. Just go to the terminal and "pip install pylsl".
And yes you can partially share code between OpenSesame and Python!

Thanks for the answer! We did (after a few very long and stressful weeks) manage to send real-time triggers using TCP.
