Satellite multispectral imagers should be able to distinguish several levels of eutrophication intensity (e.g heavy, moderate, light) in lakes or coastal waters. Is this generally true or must one go to hyperspectral techniques?
I think hyperspectral technique is good, especially Hyperion, recently we are identified Cr content spectra with this where as multi-spectral is not providing good spectra...
Arnold Dekker, Vittorio Brando and Tiit Kutser have also worked extensively in this field. Throwing those names into Google Scholar will generate a few solid hits too.
