Hello!
I'm studying the width variations in a river. Google Earth Images from 1984 show me that it had ~ 100 meters less in 1984 than 2017. My question is how much could be the distortion of that image and that those measurements could be actually wrong.
Both of them are Landsat / Copernicus according to Google Earth.
If you have any references that could help me with this it would be very useful.

How about re-georeferencing the images using any fixed (permanent) points as GCPs?
