Recently, I stumbled upon someone's profile on ResearchGate with an RG-score very close to 22. This score is well above the scores of many academics with huge number of research items reads and citations.

However, to my amazement, this person's high score is not because of his number of research items (just 10) and not because of his number of citations (just 5) but because of the number of questions he asked and answers he provided (Note: some of these questions and answers might not even be relevant)

Dear colleagues:

1) is this scenario not a mockery of rigorous academic research?

2) which of the following combination should be more relevant: number of citations and research items reads or number of questions asked and answers provided?

Thank you.
