I need to know in detail on cluster businesses in Pakistan.The number and categories of business clusters in Pakistan. The total (approx) number of workforce employed in them, the contribution of them towards exports and GDP. Special concern is on the aspect that CPEC can be utilized to develop them on regional basis. Kindly render guidance and support.

Thank you for your interesting answer, Yes I am in Pakistan and I am aware of the current state. Rather I appreciate all that is done on part of our brotherly nation China. What I mean from my query is that I want to know if formally initiation of Pakistan following the Chinese Cluster development model has been adopted or ... in process. I need to know the details that along the CPEC if our friend China has pinpointed few or more clusters to develop and give support to... I hope I have taken your concern with consideration.

Lack of good infrastructure is the main barrier of economic development in most development countries. Many potential foreign investors were scared off by the poor infrastructure in Pakistan.
On the other hand, China is facing problems of overproduction in many sectors and they need to export as much as possible.
Therefore, the $45-billion infrastructure investment from China to upgrade and expand Pakistani infrastructure will surely benefit Pakistan and enable the country to attract more investment from the Western countries.
As for the number of business clusters in Pakistan which could benefit from the investment, it depends on how you group the clusters.
According to dawn.com (see: www.dawn.com/news/1177129/details-of-agreements-signed-during-xis-visit-to-pakistan), 51 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Pakistan and China. The investment cover many areas, such as energy (Solar-, Hydro-, Wind-, Fuel- power station, etc…), transportation (Airport, Railway, Port and Highway), fresh water supply, communication, mining and pipeline.
As for the total number of jobs created and the GDP generated by the projects, I think it all depends on how the projects are being implement in the future and how much benefits are being passed on to the laymen. After all, administration inefficiencies (not only corruption, but also many other kinds of inefficiencies) are big issue in most developing countries.

You can obtain the business clusters in Pakistan related information from Domestic Trade Wing of Ministry of Commerce and SMEDA.
As regards CPEC, Ministry of Planning, Development & Reform is the focal Ministry. Though I have also dealt with CPEC in 2013 but I have no updated information at my desk.
If you want to visit these Ministries, I can refer you to the relevant persons.
