It is the high time to stand against the govt. of india's policy of reservation in higher education. They have not only ignored the need to lift the quota raj,but also increased the reservation by 27% through the recent bill. Every responsible citizen should protest against this historic blunder. Reservation policy adopted by govt always tend to create and secure their respective vote banks. It has become the decisive playing card to aquire the so called dalit and other backwards vote banks. though political leaders term it as swamajic nyay (social justice). The reservation policy also proved its usual failure as after 60yrs of independence they are shouting for reservation. Reservation not only demeans the quality of higher education,but it stands as one of the greatest hindrance of nation's progress allowing less meritorious students ignoring the genuine candidates. If there is no protest ,then the nation is surely going to abuse their original human resource and also allowing the politicians to get involved in ugly policy of their crude politics at the cost of nation's progress.so please stand against their politics. I also promise to discuss the detail of reservation. It is not an individuals fight,it is everybody right to protest.
This is ridiculous. You are not favouring a single generation, you are doing it continuously for all generations. I couldn't find the logic yet. Though they are dalit and all, due to your favoruism only their previous generations got a good job, so the next generation don't deserve such baseless favourism. What about those poor general category students? Have you ever thought about them? When I joined IIT KGP for my Master's, I was surprised to see the rank of those quota students. Merely with a 25% score in GATE, they could grab a seat, where as a general candidate with 65% couldn't. And finally if you find any unplaced students, there is a high chance of he being a quota students. Shame Shame !!! That's why I like these western education system. No quota like that. Only talent matters. And Prof. Goswami, I don't think they will change this system even if our people come out and protest against it, because the day they"ll announce such change, the next election they gonna loose. And, that's another misfortune for our country, where uneducated and people staying in remote areas prefer more to participate in general election that the so called educated big town/metro city people (You can look at the statistic of recent Mumbai election). Oh God, just ask them to stop this nonsense.
