Deforestation will not affect climate change. I think your question need reversing. Also, RS is not a model, it's a method :)

You haven't mentioned the models you used in the your study. So, I share my thoughts with you.

First of all, you should determine the area of deforestation by image explanation. Perhaps using MODIS land cover data sets may also works? But the spatial resolution is too low. Then, you need climatic data sets. Make sure that there are sufficient weather stations providing you climatic data sets, like daily temperature and total precipitation. Finally, you conduct time series analysis. I recommend you use R software. Linear regression may be too simple. You should consider machine learning algorithm, like Random Forest and Generalized Additive Models.
