Is the Research Interest Score (RIS) related to the number of publications? Seems it has no relevance; some other factors are related like number of reads, citations etc. Then how does Research gate gives credit to the number of publications. University professors producing doctorates, who are generally very popular among students, can have higher RIS by influencing their students, than one, for example, who is in an industry without producing any doctorates but has higher number of papers, will have poor RIS. I think this is a fact to be looked into by ResearchGate.
