The score is supposed to measure the impact of research within the scientific community by combining reads, recommendations, and citations of one's publications. The score is meaningless without a mean or some information of the distribution of scores.
A minimum of statistics is given in https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Stephen-Marson-3/stats. The displayed statistics depend on who looks at this page - you or other users. I see only the statement that "Stephen's Research Interest Score is higher than 86% of ResearchGate members". In my own statistics page (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Wolfgang-Dick-3/stats) I see also "Your Research Interest Score is higher than --% of ResearchGate members who first published in 1982" (i.e. the year of my first publication known to RG). I can also select a specific field of work and get "Your Research Interest Score is higher than --% of researchers with work related to: ...". You can get the same statistics in your own stats page.
