I have simulated a 1D periodic structure using the HFSS eigenmode solver. To calculate the dispersion curve, I use periodic boundary conditions between the two faces and define a variable like phi between those two periodic faces. Then, I sweep phi from 0-360 degrees with 4number of modes in the analysis set up. At the output, I have plotted re(mode(1)) and re(mode(2)) with respect to the phi. I have the attached result. My question is how to interpret this result. What is the meaning of re(mode), how to find the cut-off frequency for each mode?
