This article provides multiple links, to show what people around the worlds are thinking, on 6G. The only one common feature most are assuming is use of much higher frequency bands, to achieve the much broader channel bandwidths necessary. For 6G, we're talking up in the hundreds of GHz region, or even up to 1 THz. Needless to say, the concept of cellular communications would need a major revamping, with such high frequency carriers.
And then, as seems to be happening, what applies to modern telecom schemes is also adopted by the IEEE 802.11 standards (WiFi).
