Hello:

I am a grad student and I have a project due pretty soon!

I am very very new to Abaqus!

I am trying to model the concentration of proppants inside the fracture with time, depending on a multitude of key factors:

1. the proppants are being carried by a fluid that has the density, viscosity, and velocity varying with both time and distance; however, for now I am only focusing on viscosity for now!

2. the fracture is initially open!

Now, I know that there is a way to specify thickness to the cohesive crack porous media, but I am not sure how to tell abaqus that the crack remains (for the most part RIGID, but can expand slightly in a manner like the cohesive traction-separation method) open during the whole time.

3. I am applying a fluid flow flux through the edge of a cohesive element.

Right now, all I am trying to do is run this file (that is attached to this post) successfully! Here, I have introduced no proppants, just fluid!

However, i keep getting errors with regards to convergence, and I keep getting warning messages like "numerical singularity", "zero pivot", "negative eigenvalues".

Could one of you please give any insight as to how to solve this issue?

I have attached both the .inp and the error message file.

Please and thank you very much,

Mousumi Ghosh
