Quarantine is followed forchickenpox for 21 days for Close contacts.
However, Mumps having variable incubation period and shows iceberg phenomenon. With the cases being reported among adults nowadays, should we consider quarantine for mumps ( for 4 weeks , literature suggests max incubation period for mumps), in scenario especially if case occurred in crowded place like hostel. Any Suggestions and other preventive measures besides Disinfection, isolation, ventilation and avoidance of overcrowding?
One suffers from viral inflection like common cold, fever about 2 or 3 times annually at an average. The virulence of the virus varies, we cannot confirm the strain of virus. Only symptomatic treatment prevails. If everytime quarantine measures are taken, how a person can make the earning required for livelihoods. To increase body resistance, to stay away from infected person may be the feasible possible precautions.
