Quantum confined Stark effect in p-i-n diode and n-i-n diode

The Quantum confined Stark effect (QCSE) is a blue shift of emission energy and broadening of emission bandwidth. It is the result of the applied electric field to the quantum confined system like quantum well and quantum dot.

Since it depends upon the presence of electric field,

Should it be higher in reverse bias or forward bias?

Should it be higher in pin diode or nin diode?
