We have a situation at hand, we normally check our articles for plagiarism on turnitin software before journal/conference submission. Unfortunately, this article was added to the database and it is seen as student submission when checked for plagiarism and the similarity index is 100%.. What do we do?

I also faced similar situation. I informed the QEC of our university, which then they resolved by writing a letter to HEC, but there is always an option for "standard repository" and "no repository " so always choose no repository
Please check the settings of your profile with turnitin and correct it, then write to your repository they no what to do from there, after 1 to 2 weeks they will remove it from there data base. then you can go ahead an publish your paper.
It depends on the settings of the Turnitin account you have initially used to check for the SI. I noticed HEC Pakistan Turnitin account usually held by students from Pakistan, when used to check the SI of your paper will work well the first time but then the Paper is stored as a Student Paper such that subsequent check sees the previous record and credited to HEC Pakistan. Such error can only be removed by the Chief admin of such account by supplying the digital receipt details of the initial submission.
I am facing a similar situation. I had checked the plagiarism using two different accounts. The first time it showed 11% and after a few edits I tried it using another institution's account and the report had shown 2% plagiarism. The first account belongs to my project guide and he wanted to check it again. But, this time it shows 99% plagiarism and states the reason to be "submitted to the second account". I am afraid as this may lead to any legal consequences. What should I do before submitting it to any conference?
Karthikeyan Jawahar In this case, you have to provide the 'digital receipt' of each of the two submissions to the respective account administrators (or the sources traced to the 99% which should be either of the two sources though). They will run a check to delete the records and ONLY when this is done would you be sure of no conflict.
