Suppose we design an analog front-end (MOSFET-based) optical receiver circuit for receiving an optical signal from the transmitter. If we talk about feeding a PRBS signal at the input of this analog circuit. My question is, what is the relationship between bit period and data rate of a prbs signal?

are they inverse of each other? If bit period of PRBS is 0.5ns, can we say data rate is 2GBps?
