The market carousel of publishing is running very fast in the age of the information machinery; the predatory topic is part of this high speed competition in all parts of the journalistic profession, i.e. economic gains can be cut towards point zero! Concerning serious parameters: an author should not pay for a publication, serious authorship is labor. The copyright should be retained by the author, also no 'time-lease' of works. Royalties are welcome, but no precondition. Applying these criteria, we can see that scientific publishing is very often a predatory business. e.g. a famous physician, whom I personally know, invested about ~7000 Euros to publish an alternative medical article with a great and well known scientific publisher (i.e. he paid for the article, lost the copyright, no royalties). Let us try and develop open access and knowledge, like RG.

One can use the criteria used by Jeffrey Beall for determining predatory publishers. They were used to create the original Beall's list and are used now for the updated lists .You can read the attached file below for this purpose:

If anybody (who ever may be) say anything, we should not agree with him/her without explaining the subject.

Most of the parameters of so called 'predatory journals' given by some author (as you referred) is also applicable to many DOAJ and/ or Web of Science indexed journals also.

The author classified them at separate position. Why?

Most of these parameters are having relation with less efficiency in designing website, less power to invest money and less familiarity among authors for less advertisement.

Every new journal WILL suffer these problems, if not funded and assisted by powerful journal publishing agencies.

Nothing is written about quality of published research (not IF) or publication of repetition research!

journals have proliferated that have become known as “predatory journals” produced by “predatory publishers.” “Predatory” refers to the fact that these entities prey on academicians for financial profit via article processing charges for open access articles, without meeting scholarly publishing standards . Although predatory journals may claim to conduct peer review and mimic the structure of legitimate journals, they publish all or most submitted material without external peer review and do not follow standard policies advocated by organizations such as the WAME, the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the Council of Science Editors (CSE) regarding issues such as archiving of journal content, management of potential conflicts of interest, handling of errata, and transparency of journal processes and policies including fees.

TThere are three possible things to take advantage of:

1-Check the submission to publication dates. Could a 50-page paper get an adequate peer review in 10 days? Many editors will tell you it often takes two weeks to get the necessary number of reviewers in place and two weeks or more to get their comments back; Papers are rarely accepted outright and often go through a revision or two to respond to reviewer questions and comments. All of this takes time and can result in several months from submission to publication.

2- Does the journal have editorial boards and reviewers, and are the reviewers qualified and recognized for the particular area of research?

3- Finally, and probably the easiest way, is to check the title of the journal .

I fully agree with you on the following: the criteria that are called for "predatory journals" are also suitable for some of the journals from Scopus or WoS.

I am the chief editor of a scientific journal. The journal has been published since 2017 and does not have funding to pay for literary editors, members of the editorial board, reviewers responsible for the website.

But my team is professional scientists, they value their work and consider this work an honorable duty. I bow low to my colleagues who conduct a high-quality examination of articles.

There is no payment for publication. Can we call such a journal "predatory"?

How to convince potential authors that this is not a "predatory journal"? And my goal and the goal of the editors and reviewers of my journal is to give an opportunity to experienced and novice scientists to tell about their scientific results.

Thank you very much for your noble effort to publish articles at low cost.

I know a few persons struggling continuously like you for such low cost or 'free' publication of research articles in their journal maintaining a good standard without expecting any financial return.

But such noble efforts MUST NOT be criticised for some parameters like 'low impact', submission of article in common e mail address (g mail etc.), ugly looking journal websites etc.

Only the quality of research published as articles should be given value, all other things may be considered as ornamental.

But here also, citation of the published articles are considered as synonymous with quality of research.

I can not agree with such system, as many dirty tricks are applied to increase number of citation!

The process of publication is running fast, and journals publish anything. The important is money.

I work at a technical university and have to publish - this is the basic criterion for the assessment of a researcher at my university.

I think that good scientific journals should be more strongly supported financially by universities, foundations and governments. The scientist makes research, performs work, develops results, shares knowledge and has to pay for it. But some ordinary writer, journalist, etc., earns money on his work.

The most prominent features of these magazines: * The vast majority of them are not mentioned in the catalogs of the periodicals standard * There is no clear policy for digital preservation. * Some magazines combine sporadic specialties.* There is no clear workplace for it. * Many things that are not suitable for scientific journals.

3. Every thing, they accept, even your class notes.

4. Within 72 hours, they collect reviewer comments of three to four reviewers and send you back.

5. They are indexed in several bogus authority.

6. They send email in a frequent manner.

7. Sometimes they request to send them a paper. They say that they need a single more article for their issue. Indeed, they send that mail to many researchers.
