Gothan (1928) described the Carboniferous plant Archaeosigillariopsis serotina as endemic for the Floeha basin, a location in Saxony/Germany. There are today similar plants from other locations? Is there anywhere a database for Carboniferous plants?
Archaeosigillariopsis serotina was combined with other fossil plants into the genus Archaeosigillaria by Krausel and Weyland 1949. Information is available here http://biodiversitylibrary.org/page/10693867 from page 237 on, in Palaeontographica Americana.

Frank, this is a possibility to get information, but as you will feel only a few poeple are really familiar wit that palaeobotanical field. Good information is in a number of papers by Bill DiMichele and his group and from Hermann Pfefferkorn and chinese colleagues (see attached)
Hallo Ronny, thank you for the paper. My problem: I cant really find anything substantial to the Archaeosigillariopsis serotina GOTHAN from Floeha except the original work from himself.
