I know the general ranges of depth on which Pinna can be found, but The question deals with the exact, most common depth of its life today? Is it possible to give such an exact answer?
What kind of sea bottom does Pinna prefer most? etc...
the question is also interesting for me. Searched in the past for some relevant info and the answer I found was also general - i.e. shallower-water environ with the commonmost occurrence 15-30m. Some preferences are to sea-grasses of similar depth. Our suggestions for the Bohemian Cretaceous Basins (at different facies) are from first few meters up to 40-50m. Cheers. M
Thanks a lot for the info but it is too generall for me - I will be looking for other data. BTW there will be a sedimentological meeting in Prague next year. I will be there and I know that you will be there as well :)
